Elrick Zweck

Elric Zweck, MD, MPH is a clinician scientist and research group leader at the University Hospital Duesseldorf. He focuses on translational research in heart failure, cardiac metabolism and cardiogenic shock.

After graduating from medical schools of Duesseldorf, Germany and Basel, Switzerland, Dr. Zweck completed his medical doctoral thesis at the German Diabetes Center, Duesseldorf, Germany on cardiac mitochondrial alterations in human heart failure. He also worked as an international research fellow at the Navin K Kapur Lab at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA USA. In 2024 he graduated from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. He currently works in the Department of Cardiology, Pulmonology and Vascular Medicine at the University Hospital Duesseldorf, Germany. Dr. Zweck is a Cardiogenic Shock Working Group Collaborator since 2019 and an executive steering committee member since 2025.
